What are the rest of the worlds perceptions on Cronulla beach residents, Australia??

Just wondering what the rest of the world thinks of us after those riots? Are we seen as a racist community? Have Americans even heard of us?

2. Hello, I was on Cronulla Beach last year---astounding beach and one of my favourite areas of Sydney. I look forward to going back when I move to Australia in March. I am American and Muslim by the way, so naturally when the riots received some media attention I listened. For the record I don't think Cronulla Beach or Australians in general are racist---annoyingly nationalistic sometimes---yes; but being American I have no right to complain about that :) As for Americans in general having any knowledge about the area or events---ha, not likely!
