Best Beaches and Cities in Maui?

We have been to Honolulu, Oahu 2 times before, but never to Maui. We love a busier city similar to Waikiki Beach, Oahu. We like night life, and lots of activities, as well as beautiful beaches. What popular city should we stay at in Maui? Also, what resort or hotel/condo that is on the beach, and is a reasonable price? Any advise will be appreciated! Thanks :)

1. Wailea has beautiful beaches, but lahaina is a cute beach town with resturaunts, and shops etc, aimed at tourists. I dont think you will find a city like Honolulu in maui. Its much smaller.
