Any good suggestions for beaches in Gold Coast Australia?

I am going there in December and I would also like to know if there are any good restaurants, bistros etc...

1. Perfect time to go. I lived there for ages and had a terrific time. The beaches (all of them) from Main Beach all the way to Burleigh Beach are AWESOME. There will be plenty of people surfing and sunbaking. The nightlife in Surfers paradise is good too. The clubs are basically all in the one area. If you get a chance, there are some brilliant theme parks. Warner Brothers, Dream world and Sea world. Oh, you gonna have a ball. The restaurants are world class.

3. Surfer's Paradise is great, but very commercial now. If you go a little further south you reach Greenmount, which is just beautiful, and a great beach for surfing (if you're into that sort of thing). Just remember that the Gold Coast is a major tourist attraction in Queensland, so restaurants and bistros are generally expensive, as are boutiques. Have fun, and remember your sunscreen!
4. all the beaches on The Gold Coast are good BUT read all the signs about swimming (where to swim safely)& allways swim between the flags where it is safe there are RIPS all along the coast.Have a look in here advice & tips & other info on the beaches http://www.goldcoastaustralia.com/103181.php
