How can I find out cause of death in Western Australia?

I've just found out my ex died a few months ago. Without approaching his family/friends who I stopped talking with when we broke up, how can I find out in Western Australia (probably tough privacy laws) how he died. I've surfed the net, I know the date he died from death notices in the paper but wish to know how he died as he was so young.

  1. I suggest talking to family and friendsas surely they would not be mean/callous enough to deny you info about someone that obviously once meant a lot to you. If he died young chances are the death is unexpected and hence a coronial will be held in which case the inquest findings are usually published on the internet on the west australian government website under courts. try here and see if his death is listed for inquest http://www.coronerscourt.wa.gov.au/
  2. you'll probably have to contact them unfortunately. you could say you were an old buddy and read it in the paper.... and you didn't know if you should ask them. either that or if you know someone who went to his school they could find out. I know... maybe if you look up on friendster that website that people enter their old schools you could send a message to someone in his year that has listed themself on there and maybe they will tell you.
