Best time to dive the great barrier reef?
I wanted to go dive the reef after graduation, but my dad said june is the wrong time to go dive in Australia. Would June be a bad time to go? When is the best time?

- well dad is wrong now the deadly jelly fish is out there and around northern australia april well correction march right thru till sept or early nov is great diving out on the reef i go diving everytime i get a spare moment on my business trips back home to australia from the usa rockhampton cairns is great points to hit the reef wombat : sorry dad
- between april and september. although it will be colder jellyfish season starts in october and continues til march at this time jellyfish is out and u have to wear jellyfish suits. also king tides hit at late december continuing on to january. during this time cyclones are prone. personallly i believe september would be the best time to go not to hot not to cold and jellyfish season hasn't started and the waters are calm. Good Luck!
- june is winter i would go around the new when it's summer
- I my opinon any time of the year is the best time to see (and dive) the Great Barrier Reef - You want to come June, that is not cyclone season, Average ocean water temp. (F) 78, Average number of rainy days during the month. 9.1, Visibility, Great Barrier Reef (feet) 30 - 80, Visibility, Coral Sea (feet)100+, best month to spot whales, and it's not higher risk stinger season. http://www.divethereef.com/Guides/SeasonsF.asp More info http://www.greatadventures.com.au and http://www.quicksilver-cruises.com .. for something different try the http://www.scubadoocairns.com or http://www.seawalker.com.au
