can i swim at the south carolina beach or can't i because of the oil spill.?

I'm going to South Carolina in a few weeks and we're supposed to go swimming at the beach. Would it be best not to swim because of the oil spill?

i don t think the oil is comeing up this way i thought it was in the gulf
It would be very unusual for the oil to travel from the Gulf of Mxico ino to the Atlantic ocean and to the beaches of South Carolina. Right now it is thousands of miles from there.
