- Start with the small ones and then move on the bigger if you feel your ready use the directions in the box and Tampax are the best cos there trusted
- I am not sure about brand but stick with a name brand any tampon will do you will probably want to practice using them so your not having problems when your on vacation pratice putting them in and out and wearing them for a while so you can get comfortable with one in make sure you put it in your vagina and make sure you can find your vagina on your own size wiuld be slim but you should get a variety pack the first time and practice

- Tampax Pearl Tampons in the regular or lite absorbency are the ones we recommend. We hear from girls daily that tell is they are the easiest to use and reliable. It can be uncomfortable to learn any new technique, and tampon insertion is a new technique for you. It may or may not be actually painful, but a totally inserted tampon is not felt and, therefore, is very comfortable. After a few times, the insertion becomes automatic and you really don't feel anything. Tampon insertion should be tried when you have your period. Another reason we get nervous about tampons is we don't understand all about them. I am including lots of info on tampons so you will be a step ahead before trying them. http://www.beinggirl.com/en_US/your-first-tampon.jsp?utm_source=yahoo_answers and http://www.tampax.com/en_us/pages/tss_main.shtml?pageid=ar0111&utm_source=yahoo_answers is a page that will help you with insertion. Try Tampax Pearls regulars. Read the instructions carefully, and look at the diagram pictures. Notice the way the vagina slants toward the back of the body, so you need to use a slight angle. Also notice that the tampon is positioned all the way inside the vagina--past the muscle at the entrance. You may need to use a little twisting motion. Remember to RELAX and take your time. It may take a little practice. Once you get the hang of it, it's easy! Sometimes the menstrual blood slides down the folds in the vaginal wall and doesn't come in contact with your tampon. To avoid this make sure you insert your tampon according to the directions. You should be using the lowest absorbency tampon for your flow and changing the tampon every 4-8 hours. If you find your tampon fully saturated before 4 hours, you should be using the next absorbent size. If you remove the tampon at 8 hours and still see white fiber on the tampon, your tampon is too absorbent...drop down one absorbency for the next time. If you have problems removing your tampon make sure you use the lowest absorbency tampon for your flow, leave the tampon in from 4-8 hours and make sure you pull the tampon out in the same angle that you used to insert it. Also, if you tug on the string and the tampon doesn't start to pull out, you may need to leave it in a little longer, but not longer than 8 hours.. Good luck, Your BEINGgirl Experts
- I've always used the plastic (I've never been able to put cardboard ones in...I started off trying to wear them, tried to put them in various times, but it never worked...then I used plastic and got it in on the first try!) by Playtex. Normally I use the regular size, I don't think I've ever tried the slim and that's always worked fine, but their heavy size when I'm on a heavy day. If you're uncomfortable using the regular size or want to start out with something smaller you can always try the slim fitting ones which I think are supposed to be easier to insert. Good luck! xoxo
