has anyone ever been to a good public north/ south carolina beach?

what about oak island? whats a good hot public beach in north/ south carolina?

1. Topsail Island/Surf City in Pender County, NC is nice, not too crowded, blue waters, good sand, and the public access points are pretty conveniently placed.
