How much is the average cost for a 1 week vacation out of the U.S.?
I'm trying to budget for a vacation. Here are the details 2 adults flying round trip from Texas - coach Either in April, May or June time frame Destination's were considering (one, not all) Costa Rica Italy Beliz Jamaica Somewhere lush in Mexico Fiji Australia Galapagos Islands If you've visited or priced any of these places could you give me an idea of how much a 1 week (possibly 2 week) vacation would cost. If you have any other suggestions they are welcome as well. It must be international, not really worried about it being a beach resort as neither of us plan to do any swimming on the trip. Lush would be nice though. Something with Natural history -landscapes or maybe ancient cultures would be a place we're interested... OR a place that offers a good foody experience. :) Thanks! lol... no I didn't mean so that we could be lush's... haha... I meant somewhere the landscape was lush. :)

- I become a lush when I go to Mexico. Just bring enough for drinks.
- I've been to Italy, Ibiza and Australia! (Great choices :) ) Italy cost us 230 euros for flights (one way from Ireland) and a 3 star hotel in central Rome was 280 euros. If you're looking for history and ancient culture Rome is overflowing with it, you can see St. Peters Basilica, the colosseum, the trevi fountain, the sistine chapel + loads more, I could go on forever. Food there was relatively cheap, we got a big steak dinner each the first night there for 16 euros each, that was including a coke and dessert. A sightseeing tour bus cost us 20 euros each. It will bring you to all the attractions and is valid for 2 days. Ibiza was pretty expensive although we went there on a package holiday, it was 630 each for flight + hotel for one week. We went partying and clubbing for the week and spent about 700 euros each! The big clubs like Amnesia charge about 20 euros for a vodka and red bull. There are other clubs that are pretty good and much more reasonable than that like this one on the beach (but I forget its name sorry!) There is an older part of Ibiza if you want a relaxing, sunbathing etc. type holiday too which I assume would be less costly. Australia is an awesome country to visit. I can't tell you how much a decent hotel would cost as I stayed with relatives, but for a return flight it was 1030 euros each. I would recommend Sydney if you want to go sightseeing, it's a beautiful city with lots to do. You can relax on Bondi beach and see the sights like the harbour bridge and Sydney Opera house. Bear in mind that May June and July is winter in Australia though. Food is delicious and cheap ($8 for a pizza with EVERYthing on it and a beer). Hope I haven't rambled on too much and this is of some help to you, enjoy your travels wherever you decide to go!
