  1. Aw you are lucky! at one end of the big bridge their they take guided tours onto the top of the bridge. They give you a jumpsuit and a little safety video, and then you all climb to the very top of the bridge. I have a picture of me on top. It's safe, you have to wear a wire harness you attach to a cable, but other than that you are completely free.
  2. I think you should definitely see all of what you mentioned. They're the highlights of Sydney. Also, Taronga Zoo: http://www.taronga.org.au/ Luna Park located at Milson's Point, Sydney. That's a little theme park in Darling Harbour. I love it! http://www.lunaparksydney.com/ It's getting cooler now, it's Autumn so make sure you bring some warm clothes but don't forget to pack light clothes as well because it's not extremely cold either. Have fun when you get here :)
  3. Depedning on your age I'd also add drink beer but not fosters it's australian for cheap crap beer- but as it is good beer you can immagine what the others taste like.
  4. * Include in your travels, a visit to Manly Beach. The ferry trip from Circular Quay to Manly wharf is very scenic, so don't forget your camera. Consider taking the 135 bus to North Head from the wharf. The lookout, near the cafe, has one of the best panoramic views of the Sydney harbour. http://www.131500.com.au/publicTimetable.asp?TimetableKey=987513&Date=28%2F3%2F2010&TTWheelchair=&Direction=outbound * Take a stroll around The Rocks, The area has historical pubs, cafes & every weekend there is a popular street market along George Street. * Spend some time exploring the Sydney Harbour Bridge. For only $9.50, you can go up one of the pylons, to get good views of the harbour. http://www.pylonlookout.com.au/Visitor_frs.htm Or you can spend a bit more & do a Bridge climb. I've yet to do a bridge climb, but I often ride my bike over the bridge bike path & look up at people climbing it - it does look like alot of fun. http://bridgeclimb.com/ * And to get around the inner city, there is a free CBD Shuttle bus. http://www.sydneybuses.info/free-cbd-shuttle.htm * The weather in April? It's still only Autumn then, so it's not that cold. I usually get around in that month in a knee-length skirt & a 3/4 sleeve top. But just in case, perhaps include a cardigan/jersey & a pair of trousers in your luggage.
  5. Hi there Here are my top 5 things to do in Sydney 1) Opera House - do the tour even if you can't afford to see a performance in the CONCERT HALL 2) A walk around the Domain and the Rocks - It's a historic area and full of lovely buildings, cafes and shops and restaurants. At weekends there is usually a market. The Domain is nice for a stroll and remember to look up at the trees to see the flying foxes. (big bats that have faces like mini foxes) 3) Bondi Beach - It's a Sydney icon and you have to go. Make sure you wander up the side streets (Hall Street with Ravesis on the corner) is a good one. There are some great cafes and the Bungabar. It's much more local and better quality than the strip right on the beach. You must do the coastal walk between Bondi and Bronte. It's just stunning 4) A ferry ride to Watsons Bay for fish and chips. Seeing the bridge and opera house from the water is the best way to see it. The journey back from Watsons Bay to Circular Quay offers good views. Eating Doyles fish and chips on the small beach at Watsons Bay over looking the city sky line is pretty awesome 5) Visit one of the suburbs to get a real feel for what Sydney is really like. Paddington on a Saturday morning when the market is on is always a good bet, especially if you love boutique shopping. Or try Surry Hills in the evening on Crown Street for some of the best local restaurants and bars. As for weather, April is my favourite time of year. It's usually clear blue skies and temperatures in the low to mid 20's. That said, it's currently 30 degrees today and feels much more like summer than autumn.
