Australian beach wedding venue suggestions please...?
My Fiance and I are going to Australia in around seven months and want to marry on November 14th. We are looking for a beach wedding venue but surprisingly are not coming up with much. Any travellers out there who can suggest some beautiful locations we can investigate please. I have heard the weather will be best in Southern Auz that time of year...? Thanks in advance. :-)

- Here's a suggestion ...it isn't down south but is a fabulous venue for a wedding. Couran cove on South Stradbroke Island ....it's a beautiful resort , close to the Gold Coast & you can actually have your wedding on the beach on the surfside of the island ...there's a magnificent restaurant right there .. The island is a blend of resort style accommodation & independent town houses nestled in private bush settings ...there are pathways all throughout & bicycles or golf buggy type transport to get around.. One of our sons was married there & we made it a four day family holiday to spend time together.... http://www.courancove.com.au/
- Most Australians wanting beach weddings actually go overseas to the various Pacific Islands such as Cook Islands, Fiji, Samoa. But there are some spots in Australia that might be suitable. In November it will be too hot and humid to go north, so you're right to look at the southern States. A Google search with beach weddings nsw or beach weddings victoria brings up a few sites, and there are resorts that arrange beach weddings. Don't know which country you're coming from, but you do need to make sure you marriage is legal, so check out this page of the Australian Embassy in Washington's website: http://www.usa.embassy.gov.au/whwh/ConsularMarA.html
- There are actually plenty available. I suggest somewhere in the north coast of NSW at that time of year. Here's one that sounds lovely: http://www.shoalbayresort.com/weddings.aspx Or here's another: http://www.breakfreeaanukabeachresort.com.au/weddings/
- i agree, straddie is awsome, just don't do it in feb, it is the wettest month, august is a really nice time to go, i'll be there for a wedding this year, might see you there :)
- My mother does the flowers for lots of weddings on North Stradbroke Island off the coast of Brisbane. There's lots of different beaches and the wedding planner has done some pretty weird and wonderful things. Also a top place for a honeymoon! Weddings are also pretty common on the Sydney beaches - Coogee, Bronte, Clovelley, etc...
- 12 Apostles! in Victoria or somewhere along Great Ocean Road
- i really like Mindi Beach up in Darwin and the sunset is amazing! and the weather is never still then 31' all yr round, just check if its do-able? Would they allow it on the whitsundays thats beautiful means getting a boat out and back its the national park, have to respect there rules and that.
- The Esplanade Headlands, Terrigal NSW ..... http://www.thecowrie.com.au/ http://www.terrigalsails.com.au/weddings.html http://www.centralcoastweddings.com.au/anne_butler.htm http://www.weddings4u.com.au/webpages/country_comfort/wedding_ceremony_reception.html
- Port Douglas, 1 hr from Cairns.......stunning beach
- There are lot of wedding reception venues in Sydney! I can suggest you one place where I went for my friends wedding reception. It was a great place with waterfront dining experience..
