i want to redo my room to get a cool careless fun atmosphere, like a summer Australian beach atmosphere, HELP?
i want my room to have a really cool calm and collect vibe to it. i want it simple but nice and not something ill get sick of. i was thinking like australian beach but i want plain colored walls. idk what color to do though...it doesnt neccessarily have to be beach themed, but with that kind of careless fun free vibe of summer. and any ideas on bed spreads/decorations would be great too! i have dark wood furniture that i have to keep, besides that i can change everything im a 15 year old girl thank you!!!

- Go for a breezy pastel pallet, like soft aqua, light powder blues and pale yellow, accented with white trim around the windows and doors. Use a mix of wide and thin striped fabrics and throw in some accents of solids and swiss dots, as well in the soft hues for contrasting design. Add some texture with white cotton shag pillows and blankets, and a nubby rug. The dark furniture will be exquisite against the soft hues.
- For wall colors I would suggest googling Australian beach and going to the image results. Look at some of the pictures and see if you can get inspiration for the color of your walls from the pictures. I did this and these are what colors I would suggest: sandy white, orange-ish brown, turquoise blue, ocean blue, and lush green. If you are going with an Australian beach theme, try to think of decorations that will express that. I would suggest looking into more about that actual location and maybe drawing off your research. The Australian beaches are known for great surfing, so maybe you can do some stuff with surfboards. A neat idea would be to mount surfboards on the wall and make shelves out of them. Something like this: http://www.ohdeedoh.com/uimages/ohdeedoh/2008-04-24-surf.jpg If you want larger shelves, use full size surfboards. And you can always use any color or design of board that you want. A popular water animal in Australia is the dolphin. So try finding dolphin decorated bedding, wall pictures, etc. for the room. If you wanted to get even more creative, you could give your room a hotel vibe. Search for hotels located in Australia and draw inspiration off of their hotel rooms.
