What is there to do in your spare time in Merredin Western Australia?

I might be moving to Merredin Western Australia in the not to distant future, for work. Being a smallish country town with about 2500 people. I'm just wondering if there is much to do in your spare time? I'm a city boy, and I like to be in civilization. I generally enjoy going out on a Friday or Saturday night. I hear theres a pub in Merredin is it any good?
