What's a good beach in North Carolina for swimming?
We ( two adults and two kids 15 and 8) are looking for a nice beach in North Carolina for swimming and playing in the sand. We want to stay for about a week, so if you have lodging suggestions that would be great. We don't fish or have a boat, but we do have a dog. Any suggestions?

- Atlantic Beach
- there is a good one (i forget the name) in Wilmington, NC good waves, good sun, and its family friendly, there are always lots of kids in the summer. great for boogy-boarding
- Myrtle Beach :D -oh no sorry that's South Carolina. My Bad :D
- Try the outer banks, or you can go to Oriental, it's a really small town though. Wrightsville Beach if you wanna go to a bigger town.
- I loved North Topsail Island. It was great. The waves are nice, great for boogie boarding and swimming also. North Carolina Beach was nice, also. The waves were a little calmer here, I thought. It's nice for swimming, too.
- mertile beach beautifull waters crystal blue waters hope this helps:p
- two words...OUTER BANKS!!!!!
- i live in nc and we live by 6 different beaches. emerald isle is probably the nicest. it's quiet and clean. they allow pets on the beach also. http://travel.yahoo.com/p-travelguide-478263-emerald_isle_nc_vacations-i it's beautiful.
- Ocracoke Island has a great beach, but you can't drive there. You have to take a ferry to the island. Bald Head Island is another great North Carolina Beach. It's a very clean beach with beautiful sunsets.
- All of them as the water is warm!
- Outer Banks.... you can rent a beach house by the week
