Does North Carolina or South Carolina have nicer beaches?
How do the beaches at the outer banks compare to those around Charleston, SC?
Public Comments
- all good. myrtle beach is a good place.
- nc had beautiful beaches. i much prefer them
- NC has great beaches an has less of a crowd, but SC is where majority of people go, so it really depends on how much traffic and/or people you want to deal with
- I prefer the beaches in NC. The beaches at Ocracoke Island (southern Outer Banks) are the best I have found in either state. Because the beaches are all part of a national park they are completely unspoiled and undeveloped and in pristine condition in those areas. Another nice beach area Is Oak Island, NC, near Southport. http://www.ocracokevillage.com/ http://www.ocracokevillage.com/accomodations.html http://www.ocracoke-nc.com/ferrytoocracoke/ http://www.ocracokeweb.com/
- NC has the most beautiful outer banks area - but there is not a lot of things to do the way you will find in SC in general, especially the Myrtle Beach area. My sister has a place in Topsail NC but I still prefer a little more activity, restaurant choices etc that I find in SC. Which ever you choose, have fun.
- The beaches around Charelston are generally less crowded. However, in my opinion, NC beacher are much prettier.
