North Carolina Beach Wedding during the off season?
I was recently engaged (Jan 29th) and My fiance and I would like to have a beach wedding in North Carolina. We are thinking about doing an off season wedding due to the fact that it will be not only more intimate but it will also be cheaper. We are hoping to have about 150 or 175 guests at the wedding coming in from all over the east coast. My questions are a) what is the off season for NC beaches? b) what are some good beaches to consider? c) what are some good venues?

- a good beach would be around kitty hawk i went there a couple of summers ago. its a real nice beach i cant remeber the beach name sorry
- Congratulations on your engagement Contact the NC tourism office for good beaches in the off-season. One thing to think about, NC can be chilly in the off-season - and windy. Make sure you have some kind of indoor plans in case the weather doesn't cooperate with your wants and desires. Now, some of the beaches to consider are Kill Devil Hills - at the Wright museum - where the first manned airplane flight took place. Or the lighthouse at Hatteras. Or Ocracoke Island - get there by ferry - and the Blackbeard Inn or Pony Island Inn are good places for a reception.
- oct-feb Holden Beach, crystal coast, they tend to be the same a hotel/resort is always good. its going to be cold so make sure most of the wedding is indoors
- I live in North Carolina, and have since I was born. I'm 19 now. The busy months for the beaches in NC start around Spring Break and don't end until the end of September. So the off-months would be from October to early April. Any of the beaches on the Outer Banks would be beautiful for a wedding. Bald Head Beach is beautiful, but they don't allow cars on the island. That could prove to be a problem for guests. Figure Eight Beach is a private beach, so if you are wanting to avoid crowds and want the wedding to be more private and intimate then this would be perfect. Of course, it will be a bit pricey. Sunset Beach and Oak Island Beach are also two other beautiful NC beaches. If you are wanting a beach with a boardwalk, then try Carolina Beach. If you want a beach that resembles the Caribbean beach then try Wrightsville Beach.
