What are those things at the beach....?

Welll... I don't know if this is in every beach, but at the beach I go to there are little ''jelly'' like things you can see when its low tide. There like brown, oval typed shapes at the top them at the bottom there is a "tentacle" type thing. When you see it in the ocean the tentecle is in the sand and you see the oval part above the sand. You can pull it out of the sand easily. Can all you smarticles please answer this mind - boggling QUESTION! Thanks for all you answers! and also if you have a picture of it can you make a like so I'm sure it's the right thing your talking about! Ty, OA Oh yeah, and by the way I live in Brisbane, Australia :D Im sure that there not jelly fish coz I always pick them up and they never sting me!
