Warm Beaches in North Carolina or South Carolina?

My husband & I would like to drive to North Carolina or South Carolina this summer for our anniversary. (We are from Massachusetts). We want to swim in the ocean but I am not sure if the ocean is warm down there. I know its warm in Florida but we don't want to drive that far. Does anyone know of any good warm beaches??

1. Myrtle Beach, SC is lovely! I vacationed there one summer and was very impressed. The beach is clean and the water is warm and beautiful!
2. Myrtle Beach is the most popular beach over here, its in SC. There is North myrtle and south myrtle. there is also some family parts to it. But most of the time during the summer its just partying.
3. yes, i live in nc and the water is really nice in the summer. its warmer toward the late summer, but i usually go mostly in june and its nice then too. wrightsville beach is in wilmington, lots of places to stay there and lots of things to do. =] i live there & love it. the beach gets really crowded in the summer though. other beaches in the area are carolina beach, kure beach. less crowded beaches are holden beach, ocean isle beach, sunset beach, & oak island. if you go any further south than that, you will hit myrtle beach.
4. Wildwood, N.J. has beautiful beaches.
