Can the Australian sun literally turn you black?
I've always been pale white. But I went to beaches a lot in my life, and I'm very black. I look like an African. Why is the Aussie sun so strong and intense? My questions are stupid? So is your ingorant answer and your nickname. Boots? Haha, your brain is empty, can't you think of a better one?

- apparently we are right near the hole in the ozone layer. there isent much protection from the uv rays. never seen anyone black and from australia.
- The ozone layer over Australia is disappearing, that is the reason the sun is so strong. Regards
- The reason why your skin has turned very dark from the sun is because of the damage the UV light has caused to your skin. You should wear sun-block to stop this. Your skin will wrinkle at a young age, this is what UV damage does, and your skin turning black is a sign of much UV damage. Australia is very Hot because of it positioning on the earth.
- I have never heard of anyone turning 'black' from the sun yet! It will tan, burn, cause skin cancer though.
- Really? I know the sun has made my skin slightly darker but not to the stage where I look like an African. That's just our sun - get used to it. I know that some foreigners who come to Australia squint as they're not used to it.
