Garie Beach

Best exercises for a man getting ready to hit the Australian beaches?

I am 180lbs, 6'2", male, looking for exercises that will get me ready for the beach. I really just want to improve my chest and arms, and reduce my waist a bit. What exercises would be the most effective? I only have a short amout of time (I have 2 months until my trip). Currently, I only do 1.5 hours of cardio a week.

  2. **Do functional strength training, especially whole body exercises like- push ups, pull ups, dips, squats, lunges, step ups, etc. Get away from training isolated muscles. Train movements, not muscles. That's the essence of functional training. That's the way to get in the best shape possible. Do it 3 times a week with a day rest in between. **Do interval training for your cardio. Interval training involves alternating high intensity exercise with recovery periods. Interval training triggers the body to release adrenaline, a hormone that tells the body to burn stored fat. **Check out CrossFit training. Google it. It's also functional strength training and a killer workout.
