Are there supervised beaches to surf at near Melborne Australia?

I am going to Australia in 3 weeks, and I was just wondering if I was going to be near any good surf places around the Melborne area. I have only been surfing for 2 years so I am no pro .. I just wanted to take advantage of good surfing if there is going to be any near where I will be staying.

1. the best spots for you i think are- torquay, barwon heads, surfcoast, phillip island, portsea. are all close to melbourne.
2. There will be quite a few places...you'll find them easy when you get here! It's getting into summer now...(although the Melbourne weather doesn't currently show it) and so basically all of the main beaches are supervised..
