- PEI has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.. you can basically drive straight in any direction and you'll be at a beach in a half hour lol... I spend nearly every day of the summer at the beach. my favourite beach is Basin Head Provincial Park.. it's in Eastern PEI just past the town of Souris.. it is a very popular beach.. there's a museum there, canteens and washrooms. it's a white sand south shore beach, so the waters are warmer there and it has a bridge to jump off of and a small inlet that runs out into the ocean.. it's just a really great beach for swimming. It also has what are known as ''singing sands'' because the sand makes a weird squeaky noise when you walk in it.. its really strange but cool lol.. it also has very few jellyfish which is a real bonus for me lol.. I'm terrified of them lol. Red Point Provincial Park is another just past Souris, it has white sand and beautiful big red cliffs. Another awesome beach is Panmure Island Prov Park, it is it's own little island with beach on either side of it.. it has warm waters big sand dunes and it's great for beach combing. it's in the eastern side of the PEI 15 mins past the town of Montague. The National park is on the north shore of the island, 20 mins from Charlottetown, it has several white sand beaches and you can walk for miles in either direction and see nothing but untouched dunes and water, its amazing.. Just ask if you have any questions.. Enjoy your trip!!
