Has anyone ever been to Turks & Caicos? Is it nice?
My family and I are going to Turks and Caicos at the end of August to beginning of September(for a week). We are staying at the Beaches resort there... I've heard it's nice but I want to hear your opinions and ratings on it.

- I don't know anything about Beaches but I was on Grand Turk for a few hours when my ship docked there. I wasn't impressed. I have been to many of the islands and they are all very different. Some are almost flat and other have beautiful mountains. I didn't think Grand Turk was very scenic, it looked kind of depressed and there were lots of wild horses and donkeys roaming around that looked like they were in need of care. I did a tour of the island and I didn't see anything that was impressive. Even the lighthouse was old, short and rusty. The only nice house was owned by the guy that owned the grocery store. I just looked up your hotel and it isn't on Grand Turk it's on Providencales and it's a 4 star resort and spa. It looked very nice. Why don't you look it up to see what's offered? I'm sure you'll have a great time. It's 90 there today.
- God I'm jealous. I was just there this summer at beaches Turks and caicos. IT WAS THE BEST TRIP OF MY LIFE. and that's saying a lot cause i have been just about everywhere from Asia to Alaska. anyway. i don't know how old you are and your interests and all but being a 16 year old guy myself, this place was paradise. The resort is huge and has 16 restaurants that are amazing. You will never be hungry. i recommend Kimonos the most (its a Japanese steak house). That's my favorite but they are all amazing. And it's all free. Drinks are free too. Including alcohol and the drinking age there is 18 but they don't enforce it. I'm 16 and i could get anything a wanted. I even saw a group of teens my age there doing vodka shots so you get the picture. The mytide is really good. But don't drink more than 1 or 2 cause the volleyball starts to get harder to follow. haha Anyway now that food and drinks are covered. There are a billion pools so you won't have any problems there. The water park is pretty cool and has some fun stuff like a lazy river, surf simulator thing, and some slides. The Italian village pool was my favorite but that's cause that's where my room was and we had a cabana at that pool. The Hotel...is fricken huge and really nice. I stayed in the Italian village but i don't know the name of our room. But it was huge like 3 bedroom one that included a free butler. That was really nice. Its a very luxurious place and you'll never want to go to a different Caribbean hotel. Also a lot of fun stuff is included but stuff like golf deepsea fishing and waverunner rentals is extra. Believe me that stuff adds up fast. There was like 3 thousand dollars worth of extra stuff on my card alone. Things to do... The beach is awesome and there are lots of water sports to do there. I also found it a great place for a morning jog. Around 6 6:30 is where the good looking people go for a run if you want to run with a cute girl. (Worked for me) My favorite thing to do was beach volleyball and that's what all us teens did every afternoon. There's a pool and air hockey hall that's fun and a xbox room. The teen club was awesome and from 10:30 to 2 at night you had to be 16 or older to get in so we could have a good time without youngsters ruining our club. Its a good place to meet chics and get numbers (once again assuming your a teen and in this case a guy...btw i got 7 numbers BEAT THAT) haha. Anyway you can tell by how much i wrote i really love this place. I'm going there next summer and it seems to late to go anymore this year so i'm assuming ur going next year too. Maybe i'll c u there. email me if you have anymore specific questions. I'd be happy to help. I WANNA GO BACK SO BADDDDD.

- Been to Grand Turk and docked at their cruise ship terminal. It's nice but very commercial at the terminal. The rest of the island especially Cockburn Town (largest town) is a dump, but the beaches are nice. There are many Haitian and Dominicans (from the Dominican Republic) living and working there legally and illegally. Providenciales is more tourist oriented and I have heard it's nicer than Grand Turk by a mile. The islands just like the Bahamas are VERY expensive. Everything is imported so make sure to budget.
