Are there maroon clownfish in the Great Barrier Reef?

I am setting up a saltwater tank, and I want to put in a clownfish, preferably a Maroon, but I want all my fish to be native to the Great Barrier Reef. I researched this, but different sources say different answers. So, what's the range?

  2. Yes there would be maroon clownfish in the great barrier reef, they would not be very common though.
  3. maroon clowfish are very rare due to their shy nature they like to hide and also due to the high levels of population in the water and the coral reef dieing their numbers have failling but a group and the qld and nsw tourist foundatio are trying to resuce the Great Barrier Reef nad fighting off the twin threats of climate change and toxic farm chemicals but u can buy not native clowne fish i mean like grown up in tanks
  4. i hope.
  5. There are small populations of Maroon Clownfish (Premnas biaculeatus) in existence in the Barrier reef, however most are concentrated further north around the Indo-pacific region. Take a look at this ---> http://www.aquamaps.org/receive.php (the areas highlighted in red indicate the distribution).
  6. None left. I ate them all. Sorry.
