Why are most poems so depressing?
It's almost Summertime and the night sky is bright, The stars form shapes that glow in the moonlight, With a picture frame I capture the true essence, Of happiness and what it means to learn a lesson. I hold onto a kite as the blue skies swallows it whole, The clouds move all in slow motion all in one row, While the ocean makes crisps sounds almost like laughter, And the sand that I run on as I'm chasing after her. Her smile is the sum that continues to light the darkness, That had taken over my past but her heart I caress, Australia is beautiful this time of year I wish you could see, What it is that this beach really means to me. The surf is magniciant the waves are like buildings, The only difference is that this is nature not concrete, The smell of freah lawn brings me back to where I belong, Sitting by the water drinking and playing songs. Do you want to come with me to a place where time, Never races around and you forget about your 9to 5, Jump on some waves and ride them to my doorstep, Because when you get here you will never take one more step. There is always a melody in the wind down here, I can feel that this happiness is going to last all year.

- because they rhythm. when it rhythms or has a rhythm then it reaches out to you more
- the poem is great, one problem though, you dont rhyme through the whole thing. the poem would be good prose, but this poem is rhyming halfway, so go all the way or take the rhyming out, just dont do it half hearted. i really like the picture you painted, and i would love to come to that beach one day, but i probably wouldnt ever leave. the imagery is awesome and the readers can really feel your mood. good job. just keep writing, and btw i liked your other poem about the beach. im glad the herion is gone. you are very passionate and i just hope you know jesus as your savior, because i hate thinking that talent like this would be lost someday. im sorry if i offended you by saying that, but i have too. i give it a eight out of ten.
- Most poems are depressing because people don't usually write poetry to express themselves. I.E. When I'm happy I laugh, When I'm angry I Scream and yell, When I'm sad and sick of crying.... I write poetry. Have you also noticed that about 99% of amateur "depressing" poetry is complete crap? BTW Bookslayer? You really, really, creep me the hell out.
- Read my poem about hemrorrhoidal itch. You won't find it depressing at all.
- Again, very descriptive! I love it. "While the ocean makes crisps sounds almost like laughter..." "There is always a melody in the wind down here" I like those lines ^ very much! And again, i'm quite jealous that you live on the beach! :-)
