How much do day trips to the Great Barrier Reef cost in general?

I'm trying to figure out whether or not a trip to Whitsundays will be worth it or not.

1. The Whitsundays are known for sailing trips rather trips to Great Barrier Reef proper. There are some reefs accessible like Hardy and Knuckle. The many lovely Islands do have fringing reef but for best day trips to the reef it it best from Cairns or Port Douglas. Then many of them send people to inner fringing reefs as well so need to research. A good day trip should be less than $180.00
