  1. August. Our seas are quite cold and tend to need the whole of the summer to warm up.
  2. The currents of the sea is dangerous , never safe!
  3. It really does depend when you go. Most of the British beaches lead on to very cold seas, and it needs to be a hot and calm day if you want to go swimming as tides can become very strong. Devon and Cornwall offers good waves for surfers and as such has plenty of life guard facilities, some areas of cornwall have coves where the seas are calmer offering better swimming opportunities. Other good places include Dorset, Wales, Great Yarmouth, Scarborough. But as said, most of these are highly subjectable to weather conditions. Best time is between late June to August.
  4. july and august, but the water is never warm, you can bear it or wear a wetsuit like many (wimpy) people do :)
  5. The average sea temperature around the British Isles is too cold for most people to feel comfortable. If there has been a lot of hot sun throughout the summer, the water has usually warmed up enough to be bearable by late August/ September, after which the air temperature drops, followed by the sea temperature dropping again.
  6. Southern beaches like cornwall, devon and brighton are all good places to visit in the summer. August would probably be your best bet to visit for a beach trip, but if you do some weather forecast digging, you find a more pin point time to visit.
  7. never - the water is disgusting and always cold
  8. you can never tell with british weather, it sucks.
  9. The best time to go swimming in the UK is September, when the sea's are at their warmest. The best place is the southwest coast as it always has the warmest waters at any time of the year due to the gulf stream -warm ocean currents from the Caribbean sea. Avoid swimming in the North sea in March, unless you want to die of hypothermia! The window of opportunity is very small for swimming in British sea's in reasonable comfort, both in time of year and location.
