Racism against Indians in Melbourne?

The shameful racism in Melbourne highlights the racist undercurrent in Australian society. Couple of years ago it was in Sydney's Bondi Beach with the Lebanese and Middle-Eastern. In my opinion, some white Australians are not racists, but the large part of Aussies are, whether they admit it or not. I believe that this portion of Aussies are the degenerates that came here as convicts some few hundred years ago. They stompped on the local abroginals and beat them into an alcohol fuelled stupour thats still going on to today. The whole structure of society here is geared towards supporting racism in this country. Just look at how the police treat the abroginals. I have seen them treat Asian Indians and Chinese in a similar way all around Australia. You'd never see them treat whiteman with such contempt as they do the Asians. Just try calling the police on your mobile to report a racist attack or abuse or threat. The moment they think its a racist attack, the police will choose not to respond or take your details down. The reason is because they don't want racism reports to be reflected in their performance statistics. So Asians will have to bear the intollerance in silence, because even the police is no use to you. The way to make the racism stop is to vote with your wallet. You see, to the white man, nothing else matters other than money, and that is how the Indians should seize the advantage and punish the whiteman. Tell all your firiends and relatives not to come to Australia for studies, but take their money elsewhere to other places where it would be appreciated. Write that up in blogs, community newspapers, anywhere in India where future student can be influenced. It is a battle for the mind. I hope that our Chinese and Middle-Eastern friends would do the same, because what happens to the Indians also happens to you. When enough people are scared off from coming to study here in Australia, perhaps the government will wake up take some positive action. First, they need to purge the racist police force all round Australia of its racist officers and then take the fight to the racist white trash that are perpatuating the racist attaks. Perhaps then, they would also increase the penalties against racism. Sol Trujillo, the recently ex CEO of Telstra, was correct in his observation that Australia is a racist and backward country. If Asians want to get have a career here, then they can expect to be doing all the donkey work in the company, whilst the white fella, who is often less educated and certainly less experienced, will take all the credit. The management in many of the companies in Australia are run like the KKK clans, by racist white fellas. Here is a challenge for you. Just look arund the ethnic make up of the board of some of Australia's companies. You will find that it is difficult to find Asians installed there, and if there are Asians, then its because there is Asian money propping the person on the board. Contrast this with companies in the US and UK, you will find it very different over there. Here the perception is that the white man is the only capable person to manage and run organizations. The proof, however, is in the pudding. See Sol's comments. Again, Asians can grow companies faster, more efficiently and more productively than white people can. This fact is proven with Asia's phenomenol growth rate. What has taken the West hundreds of years to achieve, takes the Asians a couple of decades. On this score, as a shareholder, one should be asking why are the Asians not dominating the board of corporate Australia? Perhaps its time for a change. Australia is so eager to portray to the world that it is a dynamic multi-cultural country. But just look at the main commercial tv channels (with the exception of ABC and SBS). Most, if not all, the presenters are white, blue-eyed people who are put there to reinforce the white supremacy of this country. Even when the media portrays Indians, Chinese or other ethinic groups, its done in a negative light. If this is multi-culturalism, then they can shove high up their white provibial creek. The white fella should understand that Asians are not like the Abroginals who they can trifile with. We have economic power and the future of this country depends on Asia. Racism would be a valuable strategic negotiating tool for governments and companies in Asia to squeeze value from Australian businesses, just the Australian does with its insistence on human rights with other country. But again Australia's human rights record is probably worse than that in China or India or even Zimbabwe. Just take a trip into the bush of Australia and see how the Abrogines live. I'm not from Australia, but I'm sure the Indians are just as racist as anyone else.
So you don't have a question....? I've said this before in a similar situation - boycotting Australia will not work. Companies rarely stop trading and doing business and there's no way you will get enough people behind you to get any action FROM COMPANIES or from foreign governments. However, by staying in Australia and pressuring the government, you will eventually get change. This idea that somehow through economic warfare, Australia will become less racist is ridiculous. What will happen? It will probably become more racist, and more polarized. Change has to be internal, and not because of external forces.

What a diatribe! Almost a book! Listen, sport, cobber, mate, I think that you're one chop short of a barbie! The vast majority of Australians are accepting and non-racist. There is a minority in every country in the world that sucks. Even within Australia there are Lebanese that are racist, Indians that are racist, Chinese that are racist, aboriginals that are racist. People are people are people. At least we in Australia don't have the cast system, or the nasty class system that exists in most Asian countries. Most racism or discrimination is born out of ignorance and if most Indian (and other races) people tried to assimilate instead of staying in their ghettos then Australia would become an even greater multi-cultural country. There is no "white supremacy" here. If you want to get off your arse and do something worthwhile you'll see that there are millions of immigrants here (I am one of them) who are building amazingly successful lives for themselves. The have their own businesses, beautiful homes, they enjoy the rewards of their endeavours and they live in one of the most democratic egalitarian countries in the world. The "human rights" issue regarding out indigenous people is a major concern, but is mainly a legacy from the 18th century. Please remember that Australia is vast and some communties are so remote that I wouldn't send my worst enemy there. The government is pouring millions of dollars into the problem and somehow, one day we will rectify 200 years of problems. All countries conquered by "whites" have their problems when it comes to indigenous peoples. You are full of vitriol and hatred and I suggest, with all respect that you piss off and find somewhere better. Mate!

I have heard the same thing actually many times. I live in USA, but i hear Melbourne has the largest Indian population and the Australians discriminate against Indians. Shame it is.
you know what....its a shame you're only seeing one side of the story and giving judgment...i'm an Indian but i live in toronto...and if the Canadians and Americans and Australians, Kiwi's etc...start reporting and making news images of how much crime occurs because of people from asia...trust me it'll be a much longer list...you think you can go to another country and talk shit about their culture and way of life and then expect them to not get mad...you're little speech here shows you're just as racist as any of these people...its a shame we don't have broad minded people anymore. I live in Toronto and i don't think i have ever seen a more diverse society in my life...but still i've seen crimes of racism...not by Canadians on immigrants but the other way around so ddon'r blame "the white man"....because you're not clean inside yourself. I've never seen a more ignorant person....when there are racism cases here they don't take it to the media...they keep it low profile....just because there aren't 100 million asians in all parts of the world doesn't mean you can all of sudden become a victim of racism....indians are some of the racist people in the world...you pride yourself on being diverse and accepting....look what you did to the muslims...'nuff said.
