Name of Movie? I need help with a fictional movie that has references to Australian historical disasters?

It was on the ABC in the '80s or early '90s and has never been remade. I don't think it was ever shown on big screen. A young woman keeps almost meeting a man but the scene always then becomes that of a well known disaster. eg. when on Bondi Beach, the scene becomes that of Black Sunday when 38 people drowned. The final scene she is on the train and they finally touch (maybe kiss?) and the scene becomes the Granville train crash.
