Is Mrytle Beach South Carolina a good place for beggining surfers?

this summer I am headed to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. I was just wondering if that is a good beach to begin surfing at. Thanks in advance :)

1. MB isn't exactly a surfing Mecca. But there are nice enough beaches, and people do surf there. If you are heading to any beach town, and you are interested in surfing, stop in a good surf shop (not a bathing suit and junk store. Look for a place with a good inventory of surfboards), and ask about lessons. Take a few lessons on a rented board. If you like it, pursue it further. If you don't like it, there are lots of other things to do there. Read some of the Resolved questions in YA surfing, and good luck.
2. it is perfect for you. all you need are soft breaking waves, whitewater rides to get started. take a lesson or two and then buy a soft-top board and get out there as much as you can. new they are about a $100 and used you shd be able to get one for around $70 or less.
3. some good friends that I know rip hard, they are from Myrtle beach , they grew up there and learned to surf there. So sure!
