What beaches in North carolina are good for vacation?

We love Myrtle Beach, SC. Are the beaches in North CAROLINA NICE? What other things are there to do in North Carolina? I have 3 kids(twins, 5 yrs. old and a 10 yr. old) Is it kid friendly? We wanted to try something new for vacation and are deciding between SC or NC? Which do you prefer>? THANKS!!!

1. Best beach in North Carolina is Wrightsville Beach. It is definatly not as touristy as Myrtle Beach but is much nicer over all. There is also the outerbanks, they are very nice but are pretty desolate so it might not be very good for kids.
