What beaches in California have lots of shells for shell collecting?

1. I'm not sure how it compares to other beaches, but I live near Half Moon Bay, which consists of lots of beaches which have tons of shells. Or at least it seemed like a ton to me.
2. The Channel Islands are as pristine as if humans had never set foot on them. Shells and sealife everywhere. Good thing they are so hard to get to...
