Are Australian Beaches Topless?
Are women allowed to be topless on the beaches in Australia? Are there many public beaches that are set aside for topless or even nude swimming?

- There are a few nudist beaches in Australia . Not so many though Maslims beach South Australia and part of the beach at Broome over in the West are 2 that come to mind. I'm at Surfers paradise often and very often see topless ladies but this is illegal. Saying that if you where sunbathing I think that would be fine . If you where parading around then that would probably be stopped.
- You'll find topless people on just about all the beaches in Sydney. In Qld and other areas of NSW people do go topless, but not so much. There's no law against it to my knowledge.
- yeah most beaches here are topless. Well except Bondi, Surfers Paradise and other tourist spots. But all the rest are topless. I suppose people from other countries find it weird but it's perfectly normal here. You wouldn't have to look hard to find a completely naked person on the beaches. Maybe 1 in 20 people.
- Not all of them as families with young kids like to go to the beach as well. I for one would not like my kids to see naked people at the beach
- A guide to nude beaches in Australia Australia has thousands of kilometres of beaches. Many of these are often almost deserted and with a little courtesy and common sense you can swim and sunbathe nude. However, you do need to show respect for other beach users, and also take great care on unpatrolled beaches as the sea can be very dangerous at times. Of course, it is more fun and much safer if you are with other people, and whilst this list is not complete it does cover most of the more popular beaches where nude bathing occurs on a regular basis. Some are designated as legal clothing optional beaches but on others nudity is unofficially condoned. You should always check locally to be aware of the current situation.
