Best beaches in Thailand? hotels? nightlife?

I am going to thailand this summer, and i want to just chill on the beaches. i know there are many famous beaches in Thailand, but i HATE tourists. i am looking for a quiet, clean, beautiful beach. can someone give me some suggestions? I am also trying to find nice hotels to stay, since im going by myself, i don't need any fancy places to stay in, just a cozy, clean, close to beach hotel. I know that phuket , and bangkok suppose to have great nightlife, but i am looking for a place where there don't have to be many people, definitely not a lot of prostitutes. just few good bars, restaurants, thai spa to kind of hang out at night. All your answers will be extremely appreciated. Thanks a lot! Btw, it's kind of important that the hotel has a gym, i mean a good gym, so i can work out few times a week.

2. There is nothing in Pattaya except the strip. Phuket does have some nice scenery off the beach.
