Garie Beach

What did you build at the beach when last there?

Forget sand castles, boats, moats and holes.... The new in is giant pencils, huge watches and monstrous bath plugs! What 'art' would you like to see at the beach when you next visit? http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/World-News/Sculpture-by-the-Sea-coastal-exhibition-Australia/Media-Gallery/200903115236255?lpos=World_News_News_in_Picture_World_News_Region_0&lid=GALLERY_15236255_Sculpture_by_the_Sea_coastal_exhibition_Australia

  3. a holiday home
  4. a toilet.
  5. Hmmm I'm not sure there is any sand on worthing beach to build anything with. I have made a small mountain out of seaweed though...... those sculptures are cool!
  6. http://imagecache2.allposters.com/images/pic/PF_New%5C472008%5C/4798311~Another-Place-by-Antony-Gormley-Body-Cast-of-Artist-Liverpool-UK-Posters.jpg I love this one. "Another place" 100 cast iron figures stare out to sea.
  7. They're not bad but the masterpieces my kids created on Littlehampton beach last week with seaweed, shells and pebbles were far superior!
  8. A bed ........ Lady Mile Beach Zakki, Limassol.
  9. A giant seashell
  10. I pitched a tent..
  11. The last time I was on the beach I tried to save a giant jelly fish but to no avail.. The only art I would like to see is the sand’s own natural beauty and the footprints left from its last visitor..:)
  12. A sand fort.
  13. I live next to a beach and round our way we are into digging holes mainly. Any art would be enthusiastically peed on by the hundreds of dogs that get walked on our beach...soon to be banned though. The ostriches freaked me a bit I didn't like them..eurgh.
  14. a 2 ton sand which with real sand enjoy
  15. I broke my toe the last time I was on the beach! That was about two years ago, when I went with my friend to Lahinch beach in Clare in Ireland. She stood on my toe trying to get away from a jelly fish and it bent back and broke. I cried like a baby and my late fiance had to carry me to the car, because I thought I was dying, cringe!
  16. I didn't build anything - I just gazed in wondrous awe at the setting sun. The art I would love to see the next time I visit the beach is, the Italian rugby team displaying their six packs http://www.dolcegabbana.com/deg/underwear/rugby-campaign/home.jsp
  17. A couple of years ago we were on holiday in Mallorca with our son and his family. We saw sand sculptures similar to this one, so my grandson, 5 yo at the time wanted to have a go. We, (he and I) managed to make a dragon of a kind, we got the nostrils right and the tail was quite good, but nothing like this magnificent one. I guess you have to have kids with you to do this, otherwise you would get a few funny looks. So I only partake on a very rare occasion. :-)) http://www.panoramio.com/photo/2626858
