Top things on my to-do / to-see list when I visit Sydney?
Hi all, I'm going with my partner to Sydney for 3 weeks in January / Februrary. So I can plan ahead, what's the best things that should go on my to-do / to-see list. I'll be based in Sydney for the duration, and probably won't be wanting to travel too far (perhaps a day-trip is the max). So far got to see the sydney opera house (not too interersted about seeing something inside), blue mountains, bondi beach & surfing, harbour bridge, 360 tower.... more suggestions please :) Thanks, DJ :)

- The Northern Beaches are a must - much better than Bondi. Just catch a ferry from Circular Quay to Manly and explore by bus. The ferry trip alone is amazing. When you're there check out North Head and West Head. The Northern Beaches also has Palm Beach at it's northern most point which is where 'Home and Away' is filmed. Darling Harbour is pretty interesting. Taronga Zoo is spectacular with great animal exhibitions and beautiful views of Sydney city. Check out the Rocks Market on the weekend in the city. By the way the Blue Mountains would be much better as a couple of days trip rather than a day trip... hope you enjoy my home city, it's beautiful!
- You have to visit the open air cinema close to Mrs Macquaries Chair in the Royal Botanic Gardens. The walk from Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach is another classic. Walk from Bondi to Coogee Beach and be greeted by fantastic views, beautiful beaches, cliffs and even an old cemetery (Waverley) with unimpeded views out to sea. As though Sydney isn't blessed enough we have the beautiful Hunter Valley Wineries just two and half hours north of Sydney.
- Hi There...Sydney is beautiful - such a spectacular city. In regards to attraction sites - I think a day a Circular Quay and The Domain is a must - there you can take in the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Opera House and lovely gardens..enjoy fish and chips, have an ice cream and take in the scenery. In regards to beaches - Sydney has so many great beaches - depending on what you are after - if you are after somewhere quieter and less toursity I recommend you catch a bus up to Palm Beach - the most northern beach in Sydney (also where they film Home and Away if you are a fan) If you are after something a little more buzzy either Manly or Bondi. It's a nice trip on the ferry across the harbour to Manly - You can find all public transport timetables here http://www.131500.info/realtime/default.... Tarango Zoo in Mosman is amazing - it is on the lower north shore looking back at the city - makes for some great shots - their website http://www.taronga.org.au/taronga-zoo.as... The Blue Mountains are a lovely day trip too (about an hour or so from Sydney) - there a some quaint places to have tea and scones and you see the three sisters. I look tour trip there with this company - http://www.godo.com.au/activity/FJTR104 If you are into your wines - then the Hunter Valley is a must also, there are so many vineyards...you can visit the Hunter Valley Village gardens, cheese tasting and even chocolate factory...A great tour I went on http://www.redballoondays.com.au/experience/BWT341 Well i hope I've given you some inspiration - enjoy your time here!
