Is September a good time to visit the beach in North Carolina?
I have a large family (13) that want to visit the beach in NC in September after the kiddies are back in school. We hope to be able to rent a house right on the beach. Beach recommendations are welcome too!!!:)

- I would say Top Sail. Even Myrtle Beach. Use to live near them and it was great.
- Although the weather is nice here in September, you are taking a little risk visiting at that time of year. September is the middle of our hurricane season. Although we haven't had any major hurricanes roll through in the past 6-7 years, it is going to happen eventually. Take that into consideration while planning your trip, and plan on being flexible, just in case. I would also recommend the Topsail/Surf City area for vacationing as the previous person suggested. It has a small beach town feel, with hardly any tourists. I would steer clear of Myrtle Beach due to the high influx of tourists during almost all months of the year. But it basically just depends on what type of vacation you are looking for. I tend to like the quiet secluded beaches myself, thats why I only go to Topsail. But if a busy crowded vacation is what you are looking for try Wrightsville Beach. Both are within a half hour drive of Wilmington, which has plenty of shopping/attractions. If you would like any other information feel free to email me! Have Fun!!!
