What items/vaccinations would be needed to travel to a resort in Negril, Jamaica (Beaches)?
I am traveling to Negril, Jamaica to the Beaches resort. I would like to know if I need any special vaccinations or power outlet adapter. I would also like to know if the water is clean there or if bottled water should be the only the only thing drank. Thanks

- Your best bet would be to call Beaches themselves. They have lots of foreign, especially American, visitors and would be best equipped to answer both of those questions correctly.
- I came back from Jamaica 2 months ago. I went to runaway bay. I took my two kids,my 4y/o son and my 9 m/o baby. We did not get vaccinated. The power was 110. You will have wireless, if u need it. We all drank the water. We had FUN! relax, everything is good. I respectfully suggest you to tip whenever you can and you will have a great stay because they make very little money and rely heavily on tips. The workers would go out of their way to get you anything. Again, have fun. I can't wait to brake my piggy bank to go back. May I suggest u something else? Try to be among the first people to go to the buffet. I was not impressed with the food or the way they cook it in my resort, so the good staff went fast. I thought it was a my resort issue but later found out by talking to other travelers that it is a common problem there. I hope this helps.
- check with your doctor. or check doctor.com.
- You do not need any vaccinations. I would, however, bring some insect repellent and some benadryl (for itching). In the evening there are small bugs that will bite your feet and ankles if you are in the sand. Its more of an annoyance than anything with the itching. The water is definitely clean. I've yet to get sick on the water, and I drink LOTS of it. I would caution you though--if you goto an eatery off the resort and you just aren't completely comfortable with the setting, feel free to order a bottle of water. Beaches runs on the same electrical current as the US. I've actually only ran into one small resort that wasn't on our current. Most hotels and resorts have upgraded to our electrical current in the last ten years. So, the answer is no adapter is needed. Lastly, enjoy your trip!
- You will be ok no vaccinations,no power adapter needed.Because you are not use to the water i know of instances were some people who visit cannot drinks the top water because the change gives them diarrhea but not to worry (Bottled water full up jamaica) lol.Seriously you will be just find all you need to take is a good spirit, party feet(party all night every night),empty tummy(ackee and cod with some roast breadfruit, pplantainand fried ddumpling and some (sexy clothes lol)
