does jervis bay sand get exported to hawaii for tourist beaches?

i know that a lot of the beautiful beaches have the whitest sand but is this just an urban myth

Haven't heard that about Jervis Bay but, according to the Hunter Region Tourist website, Newcastle exports sand to Hawaii: http://www.huntertourism.com/WPDestination.aspx?DProductID=9017272 Sand importation was a big thing around the 1970s and 80s at various beaches in the world. Think Surfer's Paradise imported sand after a really bit storm years ago. But most countries now try to prevent sand degradation rather than continually top it up.
3. I live at Jervis Bay and have never heard this. The sand is very white on some of its beaches, but I am with the opinion that is an urban legend.
