Texas Outdoor Weddings?

We would like a beach wedding, but the Texas Beaches don't look very appealing. Does anyone know any resorts or nice place besides beaches to have an outdoor wedding around Feb time frame.

  1. There must be some golf courses with beautiful club houses - I recently attended my nephews wedding at the "golf course club house" - the wedding was outdoors beside the patio with open doors to the indoor sit down dining room - it was really beautiful - and I'm sure they would cater, provide the bar, and of course let you decorate the tables with your colors - Don't they have any fancy resorts, or ranches with dining halls - and nice grounds for weddings - thankfully texas will be warm enough in February for outdoors - but make sure you have a tent - rain has a sneaky way of showing up on the day you have planned for an outdoor event. Best of luck to you, your day will be special no matter where it is. Hey, even the President's daughter got married on a ranch.
  2. I've seen lots of weddings down in Corpus Christi, near the beach. The scenery isn't that bad. You could probably go to North or South Padre Island beaches, they might be able to cater to weddings in more private settings.
  3. I'm getting married on a Texas beach in Port Aransas. Sure, the beaches aren't quite as spectacular as Mexico, Florida, or Cali; but this is where we spent our vacations growing up! Texas does have beautiful sunsets, so we are planning an evening wedding--plus, since it's in June it'll be a bit cooler in the evenings.
  4. Ever been to Galveston Mardi Gras in February? It's almost always cold! This is too risky to plan a wedding. Why not do it on a cruise ship? You can get married on the ship or at one of the destinations and it's affordable. Best of all, it's a multi-day reception!
