Where's the best place for young adults to vacation in Australia, and what's the weather like in July?

I'd like to plan my next summer vacation there, but I'm not sure what the weather's like on that half of the globe, or the best place to vacation there. When vacationing, hotels need to be at least 3 star, night life must be crazy exciting, and beautiful beaches are a necessity.

1. Well, I have been to Australia and I would suggest either Sydney, just becuase the opera house, But otherwise Cairns is a nice place to visit, If you do your research well and get a good travel agent you can go snorkling in the Great Barrior Reef.
2. July is the middle of winter in Australia so Sydney, Melbourne, Tasmania and Adelaide will all be fairly wet. Queensland is still fairly warm in winter, has some gorgeous beaches and has plenty of clubs, bars and cruises. Australia pretty much has something for everyone....
3. July is still winter so if your looking for hot weather you might want to wait until later in the year, although the further north you head the hotter it'll be. Depends how long you'll planning to visit for and how much travelling you want to do. I'd definitely recommend Sydney and then perhaps heading north to Byron Bay or the Gold Coast and onto Airlie Beach where you can go for a couple of days out on the reef or the Whitsunday Islands.
4. cairns, in Queensland it is hot in summer and warm in winter, l just love it here,l have just moved back from W.A in australia. the night life here is mad you will love your stay MATE
5. forget everything but the Gold Coast, in Queensland for what you want. it will be winter but its still not too cold, though the beaches might be a bit cold. the nightlife in theis city is unique, nothing else like it here. plenty of three start hotels within striking distance of Surfer's Paradise, that is where you will want to be. also the best beaches are here. The Sunshine Coast is 2 hours drive north of Gold Coast too, for more beaches but not as good nightlife. you can get weather averages on some websites, google it
