Garie Beach

What are these areas of Sydney called?

When you take the Manly ferry or the Taronga ferry, there are gorgeous areas to the left with hilltop homes overlooking the harbor, some with small beaches on the harbor. They are not located on the opera house side but on the opposite side of the harbour around the zoo and further towards Manly. What are those nice areas called? Do you know if there are vacation rental homes there?

  1. try realestate.com/au they will be expensive around manly area
  2. Manly is on the Northern Beaches. Taronga Zoo is in Mosman which is part of the lower north shore. Both areas have very high rental prices!
  3. It sounds like you are referring to an area informally known in Sydney as the Lower North Shore. The Lower North Shore is a region of Sydney that stretches from the north side of the harbour to approximately Chatswood. Anything north of Chatswood is referred to as the Upper North Shore. The North Shore is not an official name for anything, but it sounds like the actual suburbs you are referring to are Neutral Bay, Cremorne and Mosman. As you pass the zoo and get closer to the Manly ferry wharf would be the suburbs of Fairlight, and Manly. These suburbs are part of the Northern Beaches region of Sydney. I'm sure there would be rental houses there, but not sure if there would be any ones specifically for holidaying in. Mosman is a mostly residential area and some light commercial areas with shop-lined streets closer to the centre of the suburb. It is quite an expensive area of Sydney, and many of the houses would be worth multiple millions of dollars. There are hotels and motels in the Manly area, but doubt there would be many in the Mosman area.
  4. Sounds like you're talking about Kirribilli - the Prime Minister's Sydney residence and surrounds. You can probably get a rental home around that area - hope you've got LOADS of money though!!!
  5. Kirribilli, Milson's Point...
