Best place in Cebu Philippines for beach holiday?
I have heard that Boracay is now a spoiled paradise catering to mass tourism, so think I'll go elsewhere , many people say Cebu is nice, but I have no idea where is good for me. I don't like the quiet places, I need nightlife, bars , entertainment , shopping etc, can anyone recommend the best place to go? Thanks!

- If you really want a good beach holiday, go to Palawan. In Cebu, if you want to be near the beach, then you have to be in Mactan resorts like Plantation Bay Resort and Spa, Shangri-la Mactan, Hilton or Maribago. Mactan is 30 minutes to an hour from the city proper. If you prefer the night life, then you have to stay in city hotels. Malls too are located in the city. - You heard right about Boracay. The fact that 90% of the answers here about "great beaches" are knee-jerk "Boracay" should be enough to convince you of that. Your criteria of "nightlife, bars, entertainment and shopping" doesn't exactly match-up with a beach paradise. Which is more important, great unspoiled beaches or the nightlife?
- mactan!!!!! check it on google. especially shang ri la mactan cebu. its mad gorgeous!
- mactan is what you're looking for. if you have someone with you who likes something simple, tell them to go to bantayan.
- Why are you looking for another beach to holiday in Cebu? Boracay is great and it may be catering to mass tourism; but without the masses, there wouldn't be a great nightlife of bars, entertainment and shopping activities etc. If you have not been there, try it. Otherwise, there is Moalboal in SW Cebu. It has some nightlife and shopping for beach apparel and souvenirs. It caters more to divers and the white beach was set up for day trippers 2 years ago. Nothing beats Boracay for a party animal you seem to be though. I am not a Boracay enthusiast. Just saying.
