Where is a good place to go for a beach holiday where the sea isn't too cold in/near Europe in October?

Looking for somewhere for a beach holiday in October, not too pricey to get to from the UK. Any ideas? We went to Lanzarote in early May a couple of years ago, and it was great but the sea was cold!! Was that because it was in spring? Would it be warmer in Autumn (after the summer)? Any suggestions for good websites where you can look up climate and sea temperatures for lots of different destinations would also be great.

Hiya well Lanzarotes supposed to be a year round destination, but i went in may aswell and it was really cold and rainy, the sea will be cold all year round though as its in at atlantic ocean,its best to go somewhere in the mediteranian in October, you could try Greece, Tunisia, Malta, Italy, Egypt.
