- The first one that answered is correct: Koalas are not small bears. The Capital is Canberra (they pronounce it "CAN-bra") The interior desert is called The Outback. Australia is such a cool place. We went there last March. I'd love to go back when I can afford it (I live in California).

They are not nocturnal, they do carry their young in their pouch and the only thing they eat are gum leaves. The capital is Canberra The interior is called the Outback.
