Why are people outside of Texas always so bitter about anything that is related to Texas?

Why are people outside of California always so bitter about anything that is related to California? They will hate on anything as long as it's related to Texas. Like the Longhorns, Texas Tech, Cowboys, Spurs, Alamo, Beaches, beautiful girls, BBQ, oil, NASA, Size of "things" being BIGGER.

9. Oh my God, this question was made for me. I'm from New Jersey, but I lived in Texas for seven years. I nagged my husband relentlessly to agitate within his company to get us the hell out of there, which finally happened. I couldn't get out fast enough, and I will never never never go back. People outside of Texas aren't bitter about Texas. They are fed up with Texans' obnoxious and completely unjustified arrogance, their xenophobia, the fact that they look down on anything outside of the borders of Texas, their misguided sense of their own superiority. I couldn't take it any more. It was sickening. I so did not want my children growing up with that attitude. And why? Why? Texas is ugly, it's flat, there are no trees. There are two seasons, ungodly unbearably hot, and not so ungodly unbearably hot. No one will be your friend without first asking what church you go to. Texans are brainwashed from birth with their sickening egotism and their sickening attitude. There's no other explanation for it.
10. The old joke "Only two things come from Texas, steers and (rhymes with steers) and you don't have any horns. I don't know and I haven't noticed that in people from Ohio. Good luck in your search for an answer to this one.
11. I kinda admire Texans' sense of State pride. I wish Illinois had more state pride then maybe we could resurrect our lllini football probram. Heck Illinois is ashamed of its own team's name "Fighting Illini" and seldom use it anymore. Anyway I think most people are neutral toward Texas as a state. Most people are annoyed with the Cowboy's being refered to as "America's Team" I think people would dislike the Cowboys less if they'd drop that schtick.

13. Texas is a pretty badass state. -The setting of the movie "No Country for Old Men" -Hot girls -BIG -Always hot (sometimes bad) -Great BBQ -HUGE Football state -Not too many hoodlums and hoodrats But, I like the Washington Redskins so that's one bad thing about Texas.
