Can I go to Texas' Crystal and Galveston Beaches at night? In the winter?

I'd like to take my Fiancee to the beach and make a fire and check out the remaining shooting star show next week in Texas. Is the beach closed at night? and in the winter?

1. You can go there at night, but I don't think you can build a fire. You'd have to check into city codes for that. I'd recommend a couple of things though--if you want to see meteors, crystal beach will be darker than galveston, so you'll be able to see the sky better. The moon is getting to be fuller, so you'll have to deal with that light as well. If you choose galveston, choose the far west or far east beaches away from all the light. And most importantly, be careful. There are a lot of crazies running around these days. Being alone on a secluded beach at night might not be the best idea. But, just be prepared and be aware of your surroundings and you'll be ok.
2. If you take the ferry across to Bolivar Island you can drive on the beaches there and build fires. How romantic!!!
3. Bolivar beaches are pretty, but you need to go there beforehand in the daylight so you'll know where you're at.
