Where is good for a HOT lively (ish) Beach holiday at the beginning of April?

I've looked at Thailand and the flights are a little pricey. I'm just wondering if there is anywhere closer to home or somewhere I maybe haven't thought of. Thanks in advance for you help.

1. I don't know where you live, but Panama City Florida is pretty cool. I've been to Thailand, and those beaches are very nice indeed.
