  1. Nope Pitbull are BANNED in Western Australia. Pitbull are illegal to import or export to any PARTS of australia and it is illegal to import them from the US or UK or any overseas country. You may still see some around-but they have to have permit to keep them and have special conditions such as muzzles, special collared collars and even a sign on the fence saying dangerous dog. As far as i know breeding of Pitbull is banned in australia. Also ear cropping and tail docking are illegal in australia. However if you want a dog that looks like a Pitbull, but isn't American Staffordshire Terrier and Staffordshire Bull Terrier are not banned. Plenty of them available at shelter/pounds.iN AUSTRALIA most shelter/pounds have only a small amount of what available online to force you to go into the shelter/pounds.Also in australia the dogs in shelter/pounds are thoroughly tested for temperment before being allowed up for adoption. If they don't pass the temperment test, they are euthanised and never put up for adoption in the 1st place. 2. Pitbulls are banned throughout Australia. There are some towns in Northern Queensland that do allow pit bulls but you have to pay a massive registration fee and make sure you have certain fence heights, they go out in public with a muzzle, etc. To my knowledge however in the majority of Australia pit bulls are banned, but I would ring up your local council and inquire about pit bulls, you may have to get a dangerous dog collar and register it for that.
  3. Pit bulls are banned in Australia, the only people that are allowed to have pitbulls are the people that owned them before the ban- which I think was around the yr 99 or 2000. And those dogs must be desexed, kept in a cage at all times with a dangerous dog sign that meets the councils regulations, when out in public the dog must always be restrained and have a muzzle on. No apbt is allowed to be imported into Australia. U are allowed American staffys which are decedents from the original pit bull but was purely bred for the show ring.u are also allowed English staffys and bull terriers, just not the original apbt or any mix.( working pitbull)
  4. Firstly to clear up some misinformation being given here in other answers. There is no Pit bull bans in the Northern Territory, nor is there any BSL in the Northern Territory.
