Garie Beach

Is there good surf at Bondi beach sydney?

Public Comments

  1. yes it is very good surf there but the white pointers are even better
  2. bondi is very over rated i have swam there 2 times in 15 years, its more a tourist suburb try tamaramma just 10 min away or bronte close by also some real good surf and less people can be found at cronulla
  3. It's alright but like the previous poster said, it's overrated. If you don't mind driving, head down to Garie Beach, which is in the Royal National Park, located in The Shire around 45kms south of Sydney. It's not crowded and the waves are good.
  4. Excellent question! I lived in Bronte (an adjoining suburb) for about 6 years and I saw what I consider good surf at Bondi ....... twice. I grew up around Stradbroke Island so most things pale in comparison.. It depends what sort of surf and the consistency of it you want I guess.
  5. I kind of agree that Bondi beach is a tad bit over-rated, but still worth visiting anyway. If you like surfing, head up to the northern beaches. Some good swells can be found up this way - at beaches like Queenscliff, Dee Why & Narrabeen.
  6. Yes there is great surf at Bondi beach sydney but you have to go there on the right day. Check the swell and tide before going there. Look at this website http://www.swellnet.com.au/
